Last Blog Post of 2021

Kia Ora Bloggers,

Today I am going to be telling you about my past year in Rimu and Last year at YMS! I have had so much fun at this school. Their are some amazing teachers, students and an a an amazing principal. I have so many memories at this school and none of them are bad ones. One memorie that has stuck with me is when I was in year 3 and my two friends Paige and Bridie, and I were climbing all over the girls bathroom stall! This year I have had so many new opportunities, in sport and academically.

My new school is going to be Rangi Ruru Girls School. I am super excited to have new friends and to have fun all day every day. I am very nervous about changing into a brand new school as I am sure everyone would feel. I will be going to Rangi until year 13.

Have a look at my new school!

YMS Pet Day 2021

 Kia Ora Bloggers,

My name is Stella and today I am going to be telling you all about YMS Pet Day 2021 in Rimu. So to start this we have Pet Day every year, everyone has so much fun. Rimu started the morning with doing three different activities such as, Cake Decorating and tasting, Leaf Art, Water Bowl, Photography and, Sand Sucer. The three that I chose were Cake Decorating and tasting, Photography and, Water Bowl. Majority of the class did Leaf Art, but it did not interest me. In Rimu we had places like 1st, 2nd and, 3rd. the other classes did not do placing. Now here is some more information about my three activities! Don't worry there are always going to be photos on this blog.

To do the Cake Decorating and tasting, we had the bake the cake at home and then bring in all the supplies we needed to decorate. For my cake I had a chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream icing. Then I also bring in some nice white flowers from home and put those onto the cake. One more chocolate thing was the chocolate drip going all around the cake on the sides. One mistake was that I forgot to put on the drip and I put the really big white flower on before the drip. No problem though I just took the beautiful flower off and did the drip. Like any other person would. Then I also had The letters RIMU so they went on the plater in front of the cake.  My placing in the Cake Decorating and tasting was....... 1st in decorating and 1st for tasting!!!

Have a look at my Cake !

Mine is the One with Rimu in front.

Just for fun here is a shorter paragraph about the water bowl. So for the water bowl we needed to bring in a bowl and some flowers. By the way I did not get a placing in the water bowl. Also the in the photography I did not get a placing.

Now have a look at my photograph!

!Now here are the photos that you have been waiting for!

We also had ice blocks !yum!

Here are some of the photograph

Dose you school have pet day?

What is your favorite flavor of cake?

Why NZ should use the Covid Tracker App

Kia Ora Bloggers

Today I will be taking to you about Why NZ should use the Covid Tracer App. Do you think that Nz should use the app Why or why not?

The good things about using the Tracker is that If you are near someone who does have symptoms. That you make sure that you are safe and that you can go and get a test. Also the app is private so only you can see were you have been. It is also easy way to know where you have been. One another good thing about using the app, is that it is easy to use.  All you need to do is get your phone out, then scan the barcode.

Easy Right!!

In my opinion I think that all of the people who are in NZ should use the app.  I think that because it is an easy and free way to keep you safe.  Some more reasons for you to use the app is above.

Here is a link to a website for you to find more information about the app.

What do you think about the app?

Do you think that the app is a good thing or a bad thing?

Why Should NZ Be In Lockdown OR not ( my thoughts )

 Kia Ora Bloggers

Today I will be telling you my thoughts Why NZ should be In lock down OR not. What do you think about NZ's lockdown?

New Zealand has just been in shock because we have five new cases of the Delta variant. I  was in a little shock but my family did not need to go anywhere so we are fine.

My thoughts are...

The South Island should not be in level 4. The South Island should be in level  2 OR 3. I think that because it is only Aukland and The Coromandel that have the cases.  If the cases come into the South Island we should go into a higher  level of lock down. we should also shut the borders from the North Island to the South Island so that it dose not spread any more.

What are your thoughts on New Zealand's lock down?

Do you enjoy having lockdown?

My Thoughts On Lockdown

 Kia Ora Bloggers

Today I will be sharing with you my thought about New Zealand's Lock down. Lock down is something that I do not personally enjoy. What do you think about Lock down?

New Zealand has just been in shock because we have five new cases of the Delta variant. I  was in a little shock but my family did not need to go anywhere so we are fine.

I think that it was a definite shock to the south island. It was only Auckland and the Coromandel that had cases. So we did not know that the south island was going to be locked down also. I think it was for the better.  I think that people will listen to the level 4 lockdown because we were having so much fun without covid 19 and the delta. That all they will want to do is get it over with. I do not enjoy not going to school. I do enjoy homeschooling though. I already miss my friends.

Hope we get out of Lock Down soon!

What do you think about New Zealand's five new cases of Delta Veriant?

What do you enjoy about Lock down?

Wings Of Fire - The Dragonet Prophecy

 Hi bloggers

I have been reading Wings Of Fire on Epic. We use Epic as a tool in reading it has meany different types of book and a wide variety. Anyway back to what I am talking to you about.

I have only just started reading so I do not know much about the book. This is all I have read and what my friends have told me about it. Five young dragons which are trying to stop war against them. They try really hard. But then something bad happens...

I would recommend this to kids to that age from 8 - 12. I think that because it has meany hard words the kids younger than the age of 8 would understand. It still has a really nice story to it.

This book was written by Tui.T Sutherland. She is a really good author and she has written 14 books of, Wings Of Fire.

Student Summit 2021

 Hello Bloggers

Today was the one of the best days yet for 2021. My class Rimu attended the Student Summit at Hornby Primary School. There were many schools from the the area. Schools including Yaldhurst, Hornby Primary, Hornby South, St Bernadettes ,  Gilberthorpes, Wigram and more.

There were four sessions. The first two sessions I presented with Amelia and Zahrah. The first session was ok but it was definitely not the best because I was really nervous and I did not do much talking. The second session was much better because I felt really good once I had done it once.

This is my group presentation

There were many different activities to choose from. The first session was Create A Quiz Using Google Forms.  It went really well. Two Wigram students gave the presentation. It was really fun because they made it very entertaining and because they made me want to do it at home. I loved the whole thing. I learnt how to send my quiz to others and how I can do their quiz.

This is me at Create A Quiz Using Google Forms
This is me from a different angle

The second session was Canva presented by Hornby High. It was such fun and I learnt so much about Canva because the first time that I used it I was so confused. The two girls that were presenting Canva were really nice. They also explained lots and they always helped us when we needed it. They were pretty nervous but still they did a really good job.

This is me at Canva

The overall experience was amazing I love how the system worked. I learnt so much and if I did not go I wouldn't have learnt all this amazing stuff. People were so kind.

Would you go to the Student Summit?

Camp Series - Post 3 Tree Climbing

Hello Bloggers

Today is my last Camp series blog post.  I will me telling you a little bit about my tree climbing experience.I really enjoyed climbing up to the top of the tree and touching the chain. But before you got up to the chain you have to put a harness on and a helmet to be safe. You got to chose how high you went up the tree. A little way up the tree was a hanging rabbit that you got to push it and the rabbit skewered  like a dogs toy dose. I think that it was a dog toy.

Have a look at my DLO below.

I really like that everyone gave it a go some people did not get that high but they did not have to.
I overcame that sight fear of falling out of the tree.
I leant that you always should try your best and even if you are scared just give it a try.

Have you been to Waipara before?

Have you been high up in the tree?

Camp Series - Post 2 Swimming Hole

 Hello Bloggers

Today I will be telling you about my experience at Waipara adventure center swimming howle.  I really enjoyed visiting the swimming howle because I feel nice. At first the water was so so cold that it felt like you were going to freeze like an ice cream. Once you got in and started to jump in and out on the rope swings and other things like that. You got used to the water and it became warm. There was three rope swings one in the shallow end and two more in the deep end. The deep end was way over our heads. Also in the deep end there was a huge tree and on that tree was some steps nailed into the tree and three was a little steep on the tree that you went on to jump off. Some people only went to the end of the steps but I went onto the steep thing.

Have a look at my DLO below.

I overcame the slight fear of mercy water. I learnt that you should always keep trying so that you overcome the things you are afraid of.

Camp Series - Post 1 - Flying Kiwi

 Hello bloggers

Today I am going to tell you all about my Flying kiwi experience. Last week my class went on camp. We went to Waipara Adventure Camp .We had so much fun. My class had a variety of activities we got to do. The activities were a hour and half long. It seems a long time to be doing one activity but once you finish the instruction that takes about 20 minutes.

Flying kiwi is where you get all harnessed up then the other people in your group pulls on a rope that is making you go up in the air. It is pretty fun, more like really fun. You get two turns. Your first turn is going straight up and down. Then your second turn is a choice - you do not have to do it. If you chose to have your second go you get a choose a fun way to get up the top.

One way is to do the bum slider and that is where you sit on you bum and get pulled away. The second way to go up the top is to do the swing the swing is where you run up like you are trying to run into the tree but you will not get there. Then you get pulled up like you are on a big swing. The third way to go up is to do the spiral. The spiral is where you run in a circle and you get pulled up that way. You get pretty close to hitting a tree. I chose to do the second one that was the swing.

Now that I saw my friend do the spiral I really want to do that again.

I learnt that you should alway trust the people who has the most knowledge.

I overcame the trust of the people in my group
