Today my class started to work on our Summer Learning Journey. Have you heard of the summer learning journey? I chose these colors because i thought that the flowers might need some help with bright colors. This artwork is by Vincent Van Gogh. The name of this artwork is Roses.   I love flowers. Pet Day

On Friday last week my School had Pet Day. I have to pet lambs mine is called Daffodil and Emily's lamb is called Star. They are not very cute now the are about one and a half months old. I did not get to bring them to pet day because we did not have the traylor to put them in. My challenge was to carry my friend Paige's cat with her in the pet parade. Paige's cat was called Darcy. I do have a cat but he would hat it. My cat Sylvester is a very fat cat. All the people that have seen him say that he is the fattest cat they have ever seen. Sorry back to pet day. There is a Machinery company across the road from my school. They are called NorWood. NorWood is very nice because they donate some money to us every month. New Holes Book

A few days ago my class started to read Holes by Louis Sachar. I really enjoy  reading the book. You should read it. It is amazing. We had to copy the questions from the site that my awesome teacher made for us. The site contains the videos the questions plus the vocabulary. I found that my challenge was to remember what the answers were to the questions. I made my challenge a lot easier because I concentrated on the reading more. Dear/Hi  Mum 

I have had my first day at camp green lake andI do not fell very safe. There are other boys like me who have been here for a lot longer than i have. We all have nicknames one kid is called upright mine is Caveman. I did not get to choose my nickname and I do not like my nickname.  In the day we have to dig a five feet deep hole and a five feet wide hole. If we find something interesting at the end of the day the water truck comes to see if we have found any thing interesting. If he likes what we have found we get the rest of the day off. We get pretty bad food for diner and breakfast. If i ran away I would not survive because camp green lake is the only place for miles that has water.  I want you to come and pike me up because it is not very nice out hear and I feel like I might be staying hear for longer. love you from Stanly 

                                                                                

Softball

On a Monday my class would always go to softball practice. Our coach is called Strings. That is not her real name we call her that because we don't remember her real name. Last Monday my class was doing were you got to have to hits with the bat. On your third hit you had to put down that bat not throw it but put it on the ground and run to get a home run. On my first hit I got it very far. On my second hit it was even better than the last one. On my third I did not do very well. I barely hit the ball it was still very close to the base. After that I ran around to all three other basses and I managed to get a home run. I felt very proud of myself for getting a home run because I have never played softball.  Before all that we got to do some catches with a buddy. My buddy was Zara. All the gloves were very big and there was only one very small glove. I did not need it my glove was alright. I found that it was very hard.  Have you played softball before? See you soon. 

Athletics Day

Last week On friday my school had our athletics day. We have athletics day every year. Last year I got 85 centimeters from the ground. I got 97 centimeters of the ground this year. I got first that year I felt it in my bones that this year I would try even harder to get higher. That Is what I did i was so pleased with myself my legs were shaking with fear. My heart was pounding 10 times faster that it has ever gone before. Do you do athletics at your school? If you have got in a place on any activity tell me about it I will love to hear your story. I am a year five and when you are a year five you go to athletics zones. You go there if you have get in 1st 2nd or 3rd. I got in 1st in six activities so I am going to go to athletics zones with my friend Paige. She got through in her sprints. I am very proud of her because she was doubting herself and I new she would do well and I cheered her on. Paige really helped me get my courage. I am very pleased with myself that I made it into the zones. See you soon. Stella

Moment in time writing

 Kia Ora bloggers today I rote a moment in time write. We had to describe a old room. I found finding interesting words. A few days ago  my teacher told us to use  thesaurus.com  if we needed help to find some adjectives. Maybe you could try. It really helps sometimes but today I did not need to use it.  I think it will really help you with your writing to make it more exciting. Have a little read if you like. It put me in a chilly pischon. I can see a gloomy staircase  staring at me just like a  creepy man.With staring cold blood eyes he looks like a character from a horror movie. The doors started banging open and closed like three is a ghost. It smells like sweet fresh yummy apple pie, The chandelier is filled with dark,gloomy, gross spiders. It swings back and forth. Harold The Giraffe

Today my class went to Harold the giraffe. I found out a lot of really cool and interesting facts about what is in your brain. Harold is very funny because at the start he said are we going to take their brains out? My class all giggled. At the end just before we left Harold Told us some jokes like What do you call a bee in a grave Answer a zombie. One like How do you get pikachu onto a busAnswer Pokemon.  Did you know that there is a thing at the back of your brain call a guard dog (Amygdala). When your guard dog blows up the wise owl (frontal lobe) calms it down. I found it very interesting and exciting to find out how your brain is setted out and what it can help you with.  Do you know much about your brain? Have a look at what it was like to be in the truck.

Komodo Drogon

Today and the last two weeks my class has been learning about Komodo Dragons. 

Do you know what they are? We have done some really cool activities doing with the Komodo dragon. WE have done lots of activities to do with the dragon like writing an acrostic poem or any other kind of poem about the life of a komodo dragon. Do you think that is cool and fun? because it was very fun.

I found that one not hard because I know what and how the Komodo Dragons life is. I think Mrs Taylor is making my work to easy for me. I also found doing tht one very fun and exciting because I like learning new things.

Did you know that a komodo dragon can live up two 50 years old. Did you know that the komodo Dragon can eat one howl pig in 20 mins.

Speeches are coming

 Bloggers today and the last week or so my class has started our speeches. 
Mine is about how and why to be cybersmart.  I am feeling nervous because  year fives need to have their speeches to be 1.30 or 2.00 mins but mine is 6 mins long. 
My really awesome teacher Mrs Taylor is helping me with making my speech shorter. I could not get rid of anything because I love all of it and it was hard. I am getting more nervous by the minute. 
I love love making and thinking about my speech. There were other options like why you should go to Yaldhurst Model school. How you see the future.  They were only two of the cool and awesome speech ideas. I choose to do How and Why you should be cybersmart because I thought it would be the easiest one to write about and I was very right because I am finding my speech ideas easy to think about. 
My best friend Bridie chose to write about the future me.  I am nervous about my speech because I do not know who will like it and who will not like it and why they do not like it.
We are doing speeches because it is a formal piece of writing and to see if we can  perform a piece of writing.   I told my mum and my dad all about my cool and awesome speech because I wanted my mums help to see what I could improve on and what other things I could add into my speech.

Investigation

Today my class has been doing an investigation. The investigation is about us being a News reporter.A crime  has occured in the class where a bird was found dead on the floor. Don't worry it is not true.  It is very mysterious because it includes our teachers Miss Taylor and Miss Dods and Miss Baker. They are all my suspects.  We started to investigate my teacher Miss Baker.

She says that she is innocent but my friend Birdie is so good at investigation she has been in a club for two years.

I found it challenging because I did not take much details.

Next time I would read more and look closer.

Winter Sport

  Do you do Winter Sport? I do Hockey for my Winter sport. I choose to play hockey because I have already done hockey for four years. I wanted to be the captain but my friend Lucy got it she is a year six she is a year older than me. Do you have a friend that is older than you? Lucy chose me to be the player of the day and my BFF Paige got most improved. If you get most improved you get a hand ball and some lollies as a reward. Player of the day also got the same. X country

Good Afternoon bloggers. How are you?  On tuesday my school had a X Country  My best friend Bridie and I ran the howl way with her. Bridie does Hokey and I do okey swimming and gym. jujijese   We only joged it. Have a look at the map that I ran. I am year 5. I came in 1st place and Bridie came in 2nd place. Did  you do X country? The maori are In danger because at night the taniwha comes out and If you are nearby they will eat you for their midnight snack. People would not go out at night because they were scared of the taniwha. At that time there was a little boy called Tamarereti. One morning he was hungry. So he hopped onto his boat to find some fish. Tamarereti caught three big fish. The wind had died down and the boat was stuck. He decided to take a nap. When Tamarereti had a nap the wind picked back up and he was now on the other side of the island. Tamarereti was still very hungry.  He made a little fire. Then cooked the fish that he had caught on his boat. Tamarereti knew he could not get back by the night. He was feeling  a bit nervous. Tamarereti could see some little gold pills on the sand by his boat. Tamarereti had an idea. Tamarereti collected many gold little pills as he could onto his boat. Tamarereti hopped onto his boat and threw the pills into the night sky. His plan had worked. There was light in the sky. Tamarereti could get back home.

X Country

Kia ora Bloggers This week my class is practicing for it. The X country is  next term 1st week back on tuesday.  My mum and I have decided to do some more practice in the school holidays and my sister Emily can bike with us. She will not cep up if she was running and she would get tired fast. Last time TM practice I came In first place I was very happy  when I got back first. have you practiced for X country? Grandpas greate Escape New book

Hi blogs is it nice to be out of  lockdown?  Today I am going to tell you about my new book from school library. It is called  Grandpas Great Escape It is by David Walliams.  So far kake the main charecter went to bed one night and his grandfather went out walking . This is based out on David Walliams  Grandfather. And I hope they find him soon.You should try It. I did not know the books were so  good because I was only reading Geronimo Stilton  book and one night I just hade enough so the next day miss taylor and I went to the libary found a new book and I got really into it  adn their was no more Geronimo Stilton book.  Here Is a photo of the book cover. About me and my Writing

Hi Blogers What have you been doing in your buble to day? I have been jumping around my house because i am so excited to  go back to school.  Are you excited like me?   Do you love writing stories? I don't But I am really proud of myself because I have written a story that I love.  How I made it was that I went onto  Book creater
 and made a book called  Mirror in the attic. Go and have a little read . Bubble time you latter. Bye. 


She had found it lying alone, deserted, abandoned in the attic. After making the discovery, Ariel had gazed and marvelled at it for some time. Where had it come from? Why had no dust settled upon it, as it had done over everything else that resided in her attic? A layer of the thick dust blanketed the attic floor, and as the sunlight glared through the attic windows, the dust particles yet to settle were illuminated as they hovered in the stuffy air. Yet, the mirror looked flawless, untouched by age, not a finger print in sight.

Ariel propped the mirror up against one of the thick, timber beams that jutted from the attic floor. Settling down into a comfortable position, she tentatively placed a finger against the glass…and discovers that her finger was still going through the mirror. She noticed that she could walk straight through the mirror. So then she did as her right foot left the ground of the attic  floor she fell straight down the mirror and she landed on a big golden rock. She soon noticed that her surroundings were crocodiles and big birds with sharp teeth flying right at her so she just jumped into the swampy  water. She knew the crocs could not swim so deep. So she then swam so far down that the crocs could not keep up with her. Airel then was having a hard time to breath she was about to swim up to the surface but then a goldfish swam up to her and the goldfish touched Ariel on her hand then Airel spun in one circle and woosh she was a goldfish and she did not have to go up to the surface to breath she could breathe underwater like other fish. Ariel could now go anywhere to explore the freshwater. So then Ariel went down even further and she found this underground fish city.  So then she explored the fish city then she saw a big hole with her attic in it so she said goodbye to the fish city and went to the big hole and then she was home in her attic she did not tell anyone about the magic mirror. The End

Hi bloggers what are you doing in your bubble today? Today I am writing a story ok well I finished the story. The story was that you had to  describe my favorite food so have a look at the story and write a comment of what you think my favorite food is and I will make you a comment  to say that you got it right or wrong.  Hear is the story. It has delicious cooked fish. It has amazingly cooked prawns. Mum makes creamy sauce. It has hard boiled eggs. It has tasty peas. It has creamy smooth mash potato. When it comes out of the oven it is sizzles and it would be good for a dinner party.

challenge MONSTER

Hi bloggers what are you doing in your bubble today?  My teacher set my class a challenge and the challenge was to make a monster out of anything you can find.  I decided to make a cookie monster .  What would you do to make a monster?  So my mum, my sister and I all made cookes. My mum  and I made the dough and then mum split the cookie dough in half for  Emily and I. Then mum got us each a pan to put our cookies on so then Emily did not make a monster she made unicorns and people. My mum even decorated one of Emily's cookies. I made a giant cookie monster. I still hade more cookie dough left so I made some little cookies like a three layerd star cookie with a star at the bottom then a small heart and then a small circle. I also made some little bird cookies.  My Mum found us some sprinkles and some chocolate chip pieces  she also found us some raspberry powder that  Emily and I mixed with the dough and  we sprinkled some on the cookeis. paper planes challenge

Hi bloggers how are you coping in your bubble? My challenge was to make a paper plane or  let the masters inspire your own peace of art. I choose to do the paper plane challenge. What would you choose to do? First I built the paper plane then my mum took a video of me throwing the paper plane  over my head.  I did it over my head because that is what the challenge seid to do.  Why don't you try the paper plane challenge and make a blog post of it. Miss taylor my teacher is posting on the class blog if you would like to see the other challenges the she post on there. Miss Dodds my other awesome teacher did one of the challenges that challenge was to get as many layers of cloning as you can on she got 14 layers on it did look hard.  I got 204 cm on throwing my paper plane over my head. It took me 6 trys the get it right because it keep coming back to me. Have a look at my video. Bubble time you later.

Hi team Thats week reading work was One Dog And His Boy book. We had to do At Least one Activity and all the questions. One Dog And His Boy is about My activity was to Answer all the qwestones on the slide.   I was told  to go onto this website all about dogs. The  dog that I desired to do was a Border  Collie. Welcome  to my 2020  blog.  This year my class moved to a different classroom. I love my new teachers and their names are Miss Dods and Miss Taylor.  I would like to be ale to do a bakeflip into the pool and on a trampoline .This year my class is a group of  year 4 and 5 class.  My class name is Te Mahiri. My class has one new kid and his name is Levi. Levi is a year 5. In 2020 I hope for a great awesome class. Here are some photos of my new classroom.
